Hi, I’m Anna!
I love to cook but I am no chef. I am an enthusiastic learner though and there is just so much to learn when it comes to cooking.
I enjoy putting nice food on the table for my small family of 3. While it can sometimes be a challenge to cater to everyone’s tastes and preferences I get immense satisfaction from being able to provide in this way for my loved ones. Now that I am at home full time with our toddler I have plenty more opportunities to practice my cooking skills and explore the world of food.
My general cooking philosophy is that you don’t have to be a restaurant chef in order to create something tasty. You don’t need perfection in order to have a good time sharing a meal with your friends and family. That doesn’t mean that I am not trying to improve, it just means that I don’t worry too much if the result isn’t always absolutely amazing.
As for my food philosophy I first and foremost want my food to taste good. Of course I want my family to be healthy but I don’t follow any strict guidelines in my kitchen when it comes to the nutritional values. If a recipe calls for a cup of sugar I add a cup of sugar, if it calls for a stick of butter I add a stick of butter. Rather than restricting I try to add the good things. I learned how to make bread and I added sourdough bread to our diet, I buy lots of seasonal fruits and vegetables and add those to our meals. I believe that we are benefiting from having homemade meals and from adding lots of diversity to it.
If you would like to see all of this in action visit my YouTube channel where I share weekly videos focused on cooking with a bit of decorating and home organization here and there.
